The owner of this duplex wanted to gain natural light, visually expand the spaces and add functionality to her home. The keys to the reform, carried out by the interior designer Pia Capdevila, were to gain natural light throughout the main floor, open all the spaces in general to visually expand the house, design a comfortable, functional and practical apartment where storage was very present with many corners and that the result was a warm environment with noble materials.
In order to fill the entire main floor with light by joining the rear light of the house, which entered through a kitchen window, with the front of the living room, all the spaces on that floor were opened by pulling partitions and eliminating doors.
“By eliminating the partitions on this floor and achieving an open rectangle, we saw the option of joining the kitchen to the living room and thus be able to create a general space that would visually expand the entire day area” explains Pia Capdevila.
Wood is the common thread to give warmth to all the spaces of the house, from the living room to the kitchen.
