The Catalonia Santa Justa Hotel, a four-star hotel located on José Laguillo street, halfway between the Seville Santa Justa station and the historic center of the Andalusian capital, already has a new image after the expansion of its facilities thanks to the acquisition of the back lot next to the main building. In this way, it has been possible to double the size of the hotel establishment, going from the initial 75 rooms to 125, in addition to including other new rooms, such as a gym, meeting room, parking and spa.
The connection between the two buildings has been made through the ground floor on which much of the protagonism of the reform that has affected the main building has fallen, since the same visual line had to be created to unify this space, making the passage from one building to another it will be fully integrated.
The entire project of expansion and renovation of the Catalonia Santa Justa has been directed by the interior design studio Pia Capdevila together with the image team of the hotel chain, and the architect Jacinto Arqués Molinero, who has worked more on the part of the new construction, of great uniqueness. And the fact is that the acquired building was an old neighborhood corral that, although it had to be demolished (except for the original facade), the property wanted to rebuild it in the new project to offer that historical charm that traditional Sevillian buildings have. The result is three floors arranged around a central landscaped patio that provides access to the rooms. “It is a different construction within the hotel sector and that is what the property asked me to do:‘ Make a difference with the
competence’. In addition, I have implemented a current style for a classic element such as the Andalusian corrala ”, declares the interior designer.
