HOUSING REFORM PROJECT IN BARCELONA – RAMBLA CATALUNYA

Project Description

HOUSING REFORM PROJECT IN BARCELONA – RAMBLA CATALUNYA

The integral reform of the house located on the Rambla de Catalunya, in Barcelona, has meant for Pia Capdevila the transformation of a space with a classic structure, typical of Barcelona’s Eixample, into a reorganized, updated and contemporary home that does not forget the past.
The owners – a young married couple and their first baby – wanted to update and adapt their old apartment to the needs they had now that they had created a family. Its premise was to achieve a change of look by rehabilitating cornices, doors and some windows without the house losing the essence of the typical Barcelona Eixample apartment.
Pia Capdevila has carried out the integral reform in a house with an elongated floor, very characteristic of this area of Barcelona, in which it reorganized the spaces, clearly separating the day area from the night area with the hall as a key piece to divide both areas. The style the owners were looking for was a classic base updated with contemporary color, elements and materials.
The day area consists of a courtesy toilet, a kitchen open to a small space reserved as a television and rest area, and a larger living room connected to the dining room.
The night area consists of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
